吳明偉老師榮獲美國金屬學會(ASM International)之2016年度最佳年輕作者獎(Marcus A. Grossmann Young Author Award)。ASM International成立於1913年，是國際上最大且歷史最悠久的金屬材料專業學會之一。Marcus A. Grossmann Young Author Award則設立於1960年，目的是紀念Grossmann博士培育冶金及材料後進的熱忱及成果。此獎項乃是針對2015年度在Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A及Metallurgical and Materials Transactions B兩個SCI期刊所合計刊登的840篇論文中，評選出一篇由40歲以下年輕作者所發表的年度最佳論文。
