Purpose
The pilot directions for MOST grant for the Einstein Program are established by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan, to encourage young research scholars to make bold attempts and innovations. In February 2018, this research project, entitled “Real-World Implementation of Chipless RFID Systems: Management Innovations in Academic Libraries and Applications of Internet of Things” is approved by the MOST. The project duration is four years (2018-2022).
This research project aims at the full implementation of chipless RFID in real application. We attempt to revolutionize library management by putting chipless tags on all library collections. As such, not only the system start-up cost is reduced as compared to conventional RFID, but the management and personnel costs are lowered because the efficiency of inventory taking and book finding is enhanced.
