This project proposes a self-biased antenna sub-system, where a transparent antenna is placed above solar panels that collect ambient power to drive a Bluetooth module, the antenna of which is exactly the transparent antenna operating at 2.45 GHz. This transparent antenna is a monopole made of copper microwires printed on a PET substrate. The transparency is tested, showing that ambient solar power can penetrate through this antenna. Thanks to the inkjet printing technology, the antenna depicts sufficient reflection coefficients over 2.40-2.48 GHz. Meanwhile, the ambient solar power collected can drive the Bluetooth module, making the system self-sustained.
